If you think about it, you could climb up far more than 7¾ inches very easily and you could climb down far more than 7¾ inches very easily if you are facing backwards. Stairway platforms shall be no less than the width of a stairway and a minimum of inches in length measured in the direction of travel. Stairways must be a minimum of inches wide and have a headroom minimum of inches along the full course of the stairs and one tread length beyond the bottom step.
